It’s much simpler to just look down on addicts as vermin. I think I used to do that. It was a cheap way to improve my standingÂ. Now I know better.

Todd Winkler graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and flew F-16 aircraft out of Misawa, Japan. After the military, he worked in project innovation in the medical device industry.
