November 2023 - TWH Publishes “Short Changed” Series
The War Horse, in the series “Short Changed,” looks at the noncombat deaths of women going back to 9/11, as well as the number of women who still face the same issues servicewomen have faced for decades: reported abuse or harassment that goes ignored. Mental health needs that are unmet. Reprisal that remains unchecked. And all too often, women who die. The same month, managing editor Kelly Kennedy spoke at the Brookings Institution about the intersection of politics and veterans issues.
