July 2023 - TWH Sues Marine Corps in First FOIA Lawsuit
The War Horse News filed suit against the Navy and Marine Corps in federal court, alleging that the services broke the law by denying requests for a database of public information about officer misconduct. The existence of the records, dubbed The Black Book, was first reported by The War Horse in April 2022 during a four-part series about officer misconduct in the Corps. The War Horse is being represented pro bono by Davis Wright Tremaine in San Francisco.
