The War Horse newsroom was awarded the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Award for its recent reporting on the Marine Corps’ systemic failures surrounding the rape and imprisonment of Cpl. Thae Ohu. Newsroom founder Thomas Brennan, managing editor Kelly Kennedy, and fact-checker Ben Kalin. The War Horse was awarded alongside Reuters, Associated Press, Washington Post, USAToday, HBO, and multiple talented student journalists.
