DonateEmily Miller is a social entrepreneur, combat veteran, and LGBTQ advocate. Emily is co-founder of Rumi Spice, an award-winning social enterprise featured on Shark Tank that imports premium saffron directly from Afghan farmers. Previously, Emily served as a captain in the U.S. Army. She led an engineer platoon in Iraq and served on two deployments to Afghanistan with 75th Ranger Regiment as one of the first women with all-male Special Operations teams. Her Cultural Support Team was the subject of The New York Times bestseller, “Ashley’s War.” While in uniform, she advocated for the repeal of the “don't Ask, don't tell” policy and served as the first active-duty LGBTQ service member on the board of KnightsOut. She earned her bachelor of science from West Point and MBA from Harvard Business School. In her free time, she’s an avid hiker and outdoors enthusiast.
