I was mostly interested in Navy underwater demolition. I didn’t know much about it, but I loved Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt and wanted to be a frogman.
Ned Pugh
Ned Pugh was accepted for underwater demolition training after joining the Navy in 1962. He did one combat tour in Vietnam before leaving the Navy in 1966. After raising three children in Spokane, Washington, and following his 26-year career in the telephone industry, Ned and his wife, Carla Jean, lived aboard their sailboat for six years and traveled from Alaska to Florida through the Panama Canal. They now live in Port Townsend, Washington.
