Sally Carton is a psychotherapist living on the south side of Chicago. She came to psychotherapy through her love of literature and has used her training in psychoanalysis and a body-centered approach to trauma to help children and adults over the past 30 years. Now retired, she welcomes the opportunity to write essays drawn from her personal experiences. In addition to her father’s years in the Navy, her grandfather served in the Army in the trenches in France during World War I.
