Marine perseveres through health problems after service
Tamara Geyer
Tamara Geyer is a writer and Marine Corps veteran whose personal essays and screenplays examine systems, institutions, and human behavior—especially what happens to people inside the structures that shape their lives. She is drawn to the ways people adapt and resist, which is shaped by her personal and professional experience. She was pushed into the school-to-prison pipeline as a child, later studied sociology at UC Berkeley, volunteered at San Quentin State Prison, and has worked across human services, mental health, veteran services, and education. She lives in Virginia, where wildlife rehabilitation and birding are steadily pushing her toward her final Disney-princess form.
